Effect of Danggui Niantongtang on Intestinal Flora of Knee Osteoarthritis Mice Based on 16S rDNA Sequencing

“A study on the mechanism of Danggui Niantong Tang in treating knee osteoarthritis (KOA) has made new progress. The research team utilized 16S rDNA technology to investigate in depth the therapeutic effect of Danggui Niantong Tang on KOA by regulating gut microbiota. The experimental results showed that high-dose Danggui Niantong Tang can significantly alleviate the pain symptoms of KOA mice, improve joint structural disorders, maintain the integrity of knee cartilage, and adjust the species richness and structure of intestinal microbiota. By comparing the sham surgery group, model group, and Danggui Niantong Tang group, the research team found that the abundance of some microbial communities in the model group was significantly increased, while the Danggui Niantong Tang group could significantly reduce the abundance of these microbial communities and increase the abundance of other microbial communities. These findings suggest that Danggui Niantong Tang may achieve effective treatment of KOA by regulating gut microbiota structure, promoting probiotic growth, and inhibiting harmful pathogenic bacteria. This research achievement not only provides new ideas for the treatment of KOA, but also opens up new directions for the study of the interaction between traditional Chinese medicine and gut microbiota.”
