    • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine and metabolic disorder in women of childbearing age, with hyperandrogenism (HA) being one of its core pathological features, closely related to the clinical manifestations and metabolic complications of the disease. At present, Western medicine treatment for PCOS-HA mainly focuses on anti androgen and ovulation induction, such as oral short acting contraceptives like Dianxy-35 and Yousiming. However, long-term use may increase the risk of liver function damage and worsen lipid metabolism abnormalities, and the long-term efficacy of Western medicine alone is not satisfactory. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has unique advantages in treating PCOS-HA with a holistic approach and multi-target regulation. TCM believes that PCOS-HA belongs to the categories of "late menstruation", "amenorrhea", "infertility", etc. The pathogenesis is based on kidney deficiency, with liver depression and spleen deficiency as the criteria, and phlegm stasis is intertwined throughout. Modern research has shown that TCM has significant therapeutic effects in improving patients' androgen levels, restoring ovulation function, and improving insulin resistance. Typical formulas such as Erxian Tang, Jiawei Xiaoyao San, Guizhi Fuling Wan, and Cangfu Daotan Tang regulate the hypothalamic pituitary ovarian axis (HPO) function, reduce the activity of testicular androgen synthase, improve insulin signaling pathways, inhibit inflammation and oxidative stress, and other multiple mechanisms, reflecting the comprehensive treatment of TCM. Characteristic. Based on this, this article summarizes the research progress of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of PCOS HA from the dimensions of TCM etiology and pathogenesis, modern medical cognition, typical prescriptions and mechanisms of action, in order to provide reference for in-depth research and clinical application in this field. Rewrite: This article introduces the research progress in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Traditional Chinese medicine, with its holistic concept and multi-target regulation advantages, improves patient symptoms through various mechanisms, providing new ideas for clinical treatment.
