L'insuffisance cardiaque chronique (ICC) est le stade terminal de diverses maladies cardiaques. Selon la médecine traditionnelle chinoise, la pathogenèse de l'ICC repose sur un vide de la racine et un excès des symptômes externes ; ce vide se caractérise principalement par une insuffisance de l'énergie du cœur (Qi du cœur), tandis que l'excès correspond à une accumulation excessive de produits pathologiques tels que le mucus, la stase et la rétention d'eau. Dans le processus de survenue et de développement de l'ICC, la perturbation du Qi du cœur reste la clé de la maladie. Dans le 《Huangdi Neijing · Suwen · Chapitre sur les Cinq Mouvements et Grande Théorie》, il est dit : « Suivre son Qi est harmonie, contrevenir à son Qi est maladie », ce qui exprime la relation entre le corps humain et le Qi de la nature. L'harmonie signifie santé, la contrariété maladie. Ce principe s'applique également à l'intérieur du corps humain, où l'harmonie entre les organes et leur Qi assure la santé, et la contrariété entraîne la maladie. Il explore la correspondance entre le Qi du cœur et la physiologie moderne dans l'état de « suivre son Qi », ainsi que la correspondance entre le Qi du cœur et la pathologie moderne dans l'état de « contrevenir à son Qi », ainsi que la relation entre « contrevenir à son Qi » et les différentes phases de l'ICC. Enfin, il propose, selon le point de vue « contrevenir à son Qi entraîne la maladie », un traitement de l'ICC visant : d'une part à nourrir l'insuffisance du Qi du cœur (tonifier le Qi du cœur, en même temps renforcer la rate), d'autre part à libérer les voies du Qi du cœur (transformer le mucus, éliminer les impuretés pour libérer les voies, dissiper la stase et ouvrir les méridiens pour faciliter la circulation sanguine, transformer les liquides et chasser l'eau pour faciliter la circulation). L'article analyse aussi l'effet des médicaments chinois simples et des formules sur le myocarde et les indices microscopiques du corps sous les méthodes « nourrir » et « libérer ». Par ces traitements, le Qi du cœur retrouve ses propriétés de « plénitude » et de « libre circulation », permettant l'harmonie du Qi du cœur et une amélioration de l'ICC. On espère que cette approche offrira une nouvelle perspective pour le traitement de l'ICC à l'avenir.
