La depresión es una enfermedad mental crónica ampliamente extendida, discapacitante y costosa económicamente en la sociedad moderna, con síntomas centrados en el estado de ánimo bajo y la pérdida de placer como síntomas centrales, cuyas causas y mecanismos de enfermedad aún no están claros, los síntomas son muy amplios, de larga duración y dañan gravemente la salud mental y física de los pacientes. La actual farmacoterapia occidental se centra principalmente en el tratamiento sintomático, pero presenta numerosas reacciones adversas e contraindicaciones. El tratamiento de la medicina tradicional china se centra principalmente en resolver la depresión, a menudo acompañada de regulación hepática, donde la hierba principal es la hierba de baikal, y las hierbas medicinales similares a la hierba de baikal son un grupo de recetas que contienen principalmente hierba de baikal o que usan ampliamente hierba de baikal, y por lo tanto, las hierbas medicinales similares a la hierba de baikal se utilizan ampliamente en el ámbito de la lucha contra la depresión. Estudios previos de la investigación en animales, la investigación clínica y la investigación farmacéutica moderna han demostrado que las hierbas medicinales similares a la hierba de baikal tienen una eficacia comprobada en la lucha contra la depresión a través de vías múltiples y multivariadas. Sin embargo, carecen de resumen y análisis integral en una etapa previa, y por lo tanto, este estudio se centra en el análisis y revisión de las hierbas medicinales similares a la hierba de baikal en el uso clínico para el tratamiento de la depresión y su mecanismo. Los resultados mostraron que las hierbas medicinales similares a la hierba de baikal como la decocción pequeña de hierba de baikal, la decocción de felicidad, la decocción de bloqueo de la micción, la decocción de yin, etc., tienen mecanismos para combatir la depresión relacionados con la regulación de los neurotransmisores monoaminérgicos y el factor neurotrófico cerebral (BDNF), la inhibición de la inflamación, la regulación de la flora intestinal y del eje hipotálamo-hipófisis-suprarrenal (HPA), vías de señalización relacionadas. Aplicados clínicamente, pueden mejorar eficazmente los síntomas clínicos de los pacientes, reducir el grado de depresión, reducir la puntuación de mediación china, y reducir la probabilidad de efectos adversos de los medicamentos occidentales, ofreciendo un tratamiento más seguro y efectivo para los pacientes, basado en preferencias individuales.
