El objetivo de este estudio es explorar el mecanismo de acción de las cápsulas Guinenshen Plus para mejorar el metabolismo de la glucosa y los lípidos, así como el estrés oxidativo en ratas con síndrome de ovario poliquístico (SOP) a través de la vía de activación de la proteína quinasa/activina/factor 2 relacionado con el adenosín monofosfato (AMPK/Akt/Nrf2). El modelo de ratas con SOP se estableció mediante la administración intravenosa de fenilbutirato a una dosis de 1 mg/kg durante 21 días. Las ratas se dividieron en un grupo de modelo, un grupo de metformina (0,25 g/kg) y tres grupos con dosis baja, media y alta de Guinenshen Plus (4,01, 8,02 y 16,04 g/kg/día), con 8 ratas en cada grupo, y un grupo control de 10 ratas. Se administraron dosis apropiadas de medicamentos a los grupos tratados, mientras que a los grupos de control y modelo se les administraron volúmenes equivalentes de solución salina fisiológica, de forma continua durante 4 semanas.
