'Calor del hígado' es una de las patogenias centrales en las diferentes etapas de tratamiento de varias medicinas tradicionales en China, pero no ha habido consenso sobre el significado de 'calor del hígado' en diferentes medicinas tradicionales como la medicina tradicional china, la medicina tibetana, la medicina mongolesa, la medicina uigur, la medicina dai, la medicina yao, etc. El entendimiento sobre el 'calor del hígado' ha conducido a interpretaciones con el mismo nombre pero distintos significados, así como a la confusión en su uso, lo que ha restringido gravemente la continuidad, innovación y aplicación clínica de la medicina tradicional china y la medicina popular.
