Antimalarial Activities of Xiaochaihu Tang and Its Combination with Artemisinin in Mice Infected with Plasmodium Berghei
Antimalarial activities of Xiaochaihu tang and its combination with artemisinin were studied in the mice infected with Plasmodium berghei in vivo. 75% alcohol extract of Xiaochaihu Tang was found to exhibit a slight antimalarial effect. The combinations of the extract and artemisinin appeared to have no potentiating interaction in antimalarial efficacy. Furthermore
the drug combinations displayed little effect on the parasitemia recrudescence caused by use of artemisinin alone.
