Effect and Mechanism of Active Fraction A of Guizhi Decoction(桂枝汤)on Dual-Directional Thermoregulation——Effect on IPand CaM in Hypothalamus of Rats
5 triphosphate (IP3) and calmodulin (CaM) in hypothalamus in yeast-inducted febrile rats and aminopyrine-induced hypothermal rats was studied. The results showed that IP3 and CaM contents were significantly decreased in febrile rats
and markedly increased in hypothermal rats. Theose values were reversed to almost normal level in both models after administration of Fr.A. The results suggest that IP3 and CaM in the thermoregulatory center take part in the dual-directional regulation of Fr.A.
