Effects of Coptis Root Alone and Its Combination with Scutellaria Root on the Osmotic Fragility of Rat Erythrocytes in Vitro
The results obtained from this study revealed that a combination between coptis root and scutellaria root significantly antagonized the negatine effect of coptis decoction alone at a higher concentration on the osmotic fragility of erythrocytes in
vitro indicating that a combination of coptis root with other chinese drugs in prescriptions of traditional chinese medicine may reduce the adverse reactions of the coptis root used alone.
