Abstract

To summarize the application status and prospects of the electronic nose in the Chinese medicine industry. The relevant literatures in recent years were reviewed and analyzed.As a technique of olfactory sensor

electronic nose has been developed quickly for about ten years because of its objectivity

reliability and repeatability. The electronic nose has been preliminary used in quality control of traditional Chinese medicinal materials

Chinese patent drug and their intermediate goods. It also has been shown to be possible to use the electronic nose to quantize empirical index during the processing of Chinese medicine.The electronic nose has broad application prospects in the Chinese medicine industry

and further research is needed.
