GC-MS Study on Chemical Components of Volatile Oil from Roots of Growing in Tibet
Objective: To analyze the chemical components of the volatile oil from the roots of Rhodiola crenulata. Method: The volatile oil was extracted by steam distillation
the components were identified by GC-MS and their amount were determined by area normalization. Result: 72 kinds of substances were isolated and 52 compounds were identified representing 84.79% of the total distillate composition. The major constituents were geraniol (58.24%)
8-hydroxylinalool (1.16%). Conclusion: The determination of chemical constituents of volatile oil from roots of R. crenulata will provide important foundation for further exploitation and quality identification of R. crenulata.
