Cooperative Effect of Salvia Miltiorrhiza and Hawthorn for Resisting Atherosclerosis in Rats
Objective:To investigate anti-atherosclerosis effect in rats of the extracts of Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae(RSM)
Fructus Crataegi(FC)
as well as their interaction. Method:Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 2 groups:normal group and model group. The atherosclerotic model was established by injection of VD3 and ovalbumin
while fed with high cholesterol diet. After the model was determined successfully
all model rats were divided into normal group
model group
RSM group
FC group
mixture of RSM and FC group. Each group was given the corresponding drug for 4 weeks. After the end of treatment
blood serum were analyzed for blood-fat levels
the contents of MDA
SOD and NO
observing ortic organization morphological changes by the method of(HE) dyeing. Result:The TC
TG
LDL-C and MDA level were reduced
while the HDL-C
the serum SOD
NO were raised in the drug intervention groups. And for many indexes
there was obvious (P<0.05) effect for the mixture of RSM and FC group. Conclusion:RSM and FC show synergistic effect
