Objective: A high performance capillary electrophoresis(HPCE) method for the determination of paeonal in Jiegu Huayu pills was established. Method: 15 mmol·L-1 sodium dihydrogen phosphate-20 mmol·L-1 sodium borate buffer (pH 8.2) was used as running buffer. The applied voltage was 23 kV and the detection was set at the wavelength of 274 nm. Result: The linear ranges of the calibration curves for paeonal was 0.017 4-0.104 2 g·L-1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.999 8.The average recovery was 99.42% with RSD1.27%. Conclusion: The method is simple

rapid and reproducible

and it can be used for the quality control of determination of Jiegu Huayu pills.
