Experimental Study on Anti-tumor Effect of the Total Saponins from the Crude and Processed Products of
Objective: To study the anti-tumor action of total saponins from the crude and processed products of Entada phaseoloides in vivo. Method: Mice bearing transplanted tumor S180 were used to observe the effects of total saponins from E. phaseoloides;then inhibition ratio
thymus index
spleen index and liver index were calculated. The 1eve1 of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) was detected. Result: The crude and processed products E. phaseoloides saponins showed a significant anti-cancer activity on S180 implanted in mice
increased the level of SOD and reduced the content of MDA in blood serum in tumor-bearing mice. Conclution: The crude and processed products E. phaseoloides saponins have anti-tumor effects and anti oxidative capacity.
