Optimization of Extraction Technology for by Central Composite Design/Response Surface Methodology
Objective: To optimize extraction process of total saponins from Cimicifuga dahurica by central composite design/response surface methodology. Method: Independent variables were ethanol concentration
reflux time and solvent fold
dependent variable was extraction rate of total saponins from C. dahurica.Level of independent variables were regressed by multiple linear and fitted by binomial.Response surface methodology was used to optimize extraction process. Prediction was carried out by comparing observed and predicted values. Result: Optimal extraction technology was:extracted 3 times by 15 times the amount of 65% ethanol with 170 min each time
deviation between observed and predicted values was 0.4%. Regression coefficients of binomial fitting complex model was as high as 0.988 4. Conclusion: This extraction process of total saponins from C. dahurica by central composite design/response surface methodology was a simple method with high precision and good predictability.
