Effect of Qili Qiangxin Capsule on Adenosine Content in Chronic Heart Failure Rats with Insufficiency of Heart-Qi
Objective: To observe the effect of Qili Qiangxin capsule on the content of adenosine triphosphate (ATP)
adenosine diphosphate (ADP)
adenosine monophosphate (AMP) in myocardium of heart failure rats. Method: The anterior descending coronary artery was ligated to result in myocardial infarction and establish congestive heart failure (CHF) model with insufficiency of Heart-Qi. After 8 weeks symptoms of insufficiency of Heart-Qi appeared. Rats were randomly divided into sham operation group
model group
Qili Qiangxin capsule groups with dose of 0.25
0.5
1.0 g ·kg-1 and valsartan group. After 4 weeks of continuous administration
high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) was used to detect the content of ATP
ADP
AMP in ischemia myocardium
and the energy charge was calculated. Result:Compared with sham group
the content of ATP
ADP
AMP in myocardium was obviously decreased in model group(P<0.01). Compared with model group
the content of ATP in high dose group of Qili Qiangxin capsule was obviously increased(P<0.05). The high dose group of Qili Qiangxin capsule could increase the energy charge (P<0.05
compared with the model group). Conclusion: Qili Qiangxin capsule can effectively inhibit the obstacle of energy metabolism and protect the cardiac function by up-regulation the contents of ATP.
