Determination of Ferulic Acid in Fructus Toosendan from Different Origins by HPLC
Objective: To develop an HPLC method to determine the contents of ferulic acid in Fructus Toosendan from different origins. Method: The HPLC analysis was performed on a UltrasphereTM-ODS column (4.6 mm×250 mm
5 μm)
and the mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0.1% phosphoric acid solution (15∶85) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL ·min-1. The detective wavelength was at 322 nm and the column temperature was 25 ℃. Result: The calibration curve was linear in the range of 0.010-0.160 μg (r=0.999 9)
and the average recovery (n=9) was 97.88%. The contents of ferulic acid in Fructus Toosendan from different origins was in the rage of 0.006 7-0.027 9 mg ·g-1. Conclusion: The content of ferulic acid in Fructus Toosendan samples from different origins is quite different. The method reported in this study is suitable for the quality control of Fructus Toosendan.
