Study on Pharmacokinetic of Bismuth in Weishu San in Rat
Objective: To study the distribution and metabolism of bismuth in Weishu San in rat blood
providing the basis for further clinical studies. Method: Blood sample was collected at 5

240 min after feeding healthy rats with Weishu San suspension solution. The bismuth content detected by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Result: Measured data show that plasma concentrations of bismuth reached a peak at 0.5 h
peak concentration of 15 μg·L-1 or so
and then decreased rapidly
down to a lower level at 7 h. The absorption half-life of bismuth in rats was 14.691 min and elimination half-life was 293.422 min. The total body clearance of bismuth in rats achieve 1 571.044 L·min-1·kg-1. AUC was 2 063. 515 μg·L-1·min-1. Conclusion: Pharmacokinetic model of bismuth in rat meets two-compartment model with first absorption.
