Objective: To investigate the inhibitory activity in vitro of rhizoma coptidis
radix scutellariae on Porphyromonas gingivalis
Provotella intermedia
Fusobacterium nuleartum and provide evidence for drug susceptibility testing of the Chinese herbal. Method: The Chinese herbal was pureed
and adopted the methods of agar dilution recommended by CLSI2010 to investigate the MIC of Chinese herbal on the three different kinds of bacteria. Result: The coptidis rhizoma
radix scutellariae had different level inhibitory activity in vitro on the bacteria strain mentioned above. And the coptidis rhizoma had the most intensive inhibitory on Provotella intermedia
the radix scutellariae has lower level inhibitory activity than the Coptidis Rhizoma. Conclusion: Rhizoma coptidis; radix scutellariae had different level inhibitory activity in vitro on bacteria.The effect of Radix Scutellariae on Provotella intermedia was the strongest.
