Protective Effects of Ruyi Dingchuan Pill on Emphysema in Rats
Objective: To study the protection of Ruyi Dingchuan pill on emphysema rat
and provides theoretical basis for its clinical application. Method: Sixty SD rats were randomly divided into normal group
model group
Ruyi Dingchuan pill of high
medium and low dose groups
Guilong Kechuanning capsule control group.Rat model of emphysema was established by intratracheal instillation of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) twice and exposed to cigarette smoke daily.After 3 weeks
the rats were administrated by gastric lavage of corresponding drugs for 14 days.Artery blood gas analysis and pathological changes in the lungs were observed.The expression of IL-10 and TNF-α was examined by ELISA. Result: Pathological changes with obvious emphysema and inflammation cell infiltrates were found after modeling.Average alveolar area and the levels of TNF-α in the model group were higher than those in the normal group(P<0.05).The arterial oxygen content and the levels of IL-10 in the model group were lower than those in the normal group(P<0.05).Ruyi Dingchuan pill could obviously lessen the infiltrations of inflammatory cells and formation of emphysema
increase arterial oxygen content
and significantly reduce the expression of TNF-α (119.80±5.53) ng ·L-1 and increase the expression of IL-10 (33.59±7.92) ng ·L-1 in the blood serum(P<0.05).Its effect was statistically insignificant compared with the positive drug. Conclusion: Ruyi Dingchuan pill had apparent protective effect for emphysema rats.
