An Observation on Effects of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Treatment Primary Open-angle Glaucoma
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of optic nerve protection with traditional Chinese and western medicine on treating primary open-angle glaucoma. Method: Seventy eight patients with optic atrophy leaded by Primary open-angle glaucoma were randomly. Comparison of topical travoprost eye drops given once daily and timolol0.5% given twice daily and traditional Chinese medicine in patient with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension observe eyesight
and visual evoked potentials. Result: Effieaey of the treatment group is superior to the before treatment.Before and after treatment.The average photosensitive degree of vision is increased
there are significant differences(P<0.05).The average defect is reduced
there are signiflcant differences(P<0.05). In study of VEP
the amplitude of the P100 wave is improved
there are significant differences (P<0.05)
the latency of the P100 wave is shorten
there are significant differences(P<0.05). Conclusion: the clinical efficacy of optic nerve protection with traditional Chinese and western medicine is a good method on treating Primary open-angle glaucoma.
