Protection of Anthraquinone of Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati for Kidneys of Early Diabetic Nephropathy Model Rats
Objective: To study the protection of anthraquinone of rhizoma polygoni cuspidati for the kidneys of early diabetic nephropathy (DN)model rats. Method: DN rats were induced by streptozotocin(STZ)
which were randomized into high
middle and low dose of anthraquinone groups
control group with 15 in each
blank group with 10
model group with 16. The protection of anthraquinone of rhizoma polygoni cuspidati for the kidneys of early diabetic nephropathy model rats was synthetically evaluated by the changes concerning urine volume
mAlb and nephritic morphology before and after treatment. Result: Anthraxquinone of rhizoma polygoni cuspidati had no obvious effect on urine volume. High dosage and middle dosage of anthraquinone can lower mAlb level after 8 weeks of medication(P<0.05). High dosage and middle dosage of anthraquinone can lower serum glucose level
after 4 weeks of medication(P<0.05). Anthraxquinone of rhizoma polygoni cuspidati can effectively improve nephritic morphology. Conclusion: Anthraquinone of rhizoma polygoni cuspidate owns protective effects on the kidneys of early diabetic nephropathy model rats.
