Analysis of Volatile Oil in Pre-and Past-honey Processed by GC-MS
Objective: To analyze the chemical compounds of the volatile oil in pre-and past-honey processed Aristolochia contorta by GC-MS. Method: The volatile oil was obtained from A.contorta by steam distillation.The amount of the compounds from the volatile oil was determined by area normalization method.The separated compounds were identified by GC-MS. Result: One hundred and thirty three compounds were separated and identified from crude and honey processed A.contorta
accounting for over 90% of the total volatile oil. A.contorta processed by honey produced new compounds
while the content of some compounds was changed. Conclusion: The method is reliable
stable and has good repeatability.This method can be applied to the analysis of volatile oil components in A.contorta.It will provide certain scientific proof for further evaluation of A.contorta quality.
