Objective: To select optimal molding technique of Aitongxiao granules by orthogonal design. Method: The main influential factors of the molding technique included the proportion between mixed subsidiary materials
CMC-NA dosage
ethanol concentration. Conditions of the molding were evaluated with formation rate
hygroscopic and color uniformity as indexes. The optimal technique of Aitongxiao granules was selected by L9(34) orthogonal design. Result: The best molding technique was that the proportion between mixed subsidiary materials (dextrin to soluble starch) was 2 ∶1

the wetting agent was 85% alcohol. Conclusion: The forming technology is feasible
stable
reasonable and reproducible and can serve as theoretic basis for industrial production.
