Objective: To screen out the the optimal technology for deproteinization of polysaccharide from Radix Polygoni Multiflori Preparata. Method: The protein was removed by the enzyme
TCA and Sevage methods with the percentage of the removed protein (the PRP) and the decomposed polysaccharide (the PDP) as index. Result: The PRPs for the enzyme
TCA and Sevage methods were 87.62%
73.12% and 62.56%
the PDPs were 8.13%
29.36% and 20.24%. Conclusion: Enzymatic method of removing protein is an effective and alternative method.
