Objective: The samples of Mongolian medicinal plants of Scabiosa were analyzed by microwave digestion-inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) for content of many trace elements including Al

Ba
Cd
Co
Cu
Fe
Hg
In
Mn
Pb
Sr and Zn. Method: A mixture of nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide was used for microwave digestion of samples. Result: The method exhibited a spike recovery range of 96.6% to 110.6%
with RSDs of less than 4.29%. Under optimized experimental conditions
a simultaneous determination of various trace elements was achieved without any interference among them. Conclusion: The findings will provide useful evidences for the better exploration and utilization of Mongolian medicinal plants of Scabiosa.
