ObJective: To explore the syndrome distribution of vascular dementia based on its prescription analysis so as to direct the clinical and research work even better. Method : Through the analysed prescriptions which were from the 152 pieces of literature(seized from VIP database in 2000-2008) on the treatment of vascular dementia by Traditional Chinese Medicine
explore the vascular dementia's syndrome distribution. Result : The invigorating the circulation of blood
supplement of Yin and Yang
nourishing Qi
enrich the blood
restoring a clear head
expectorant drugs and calming liver wind are much more used. The dominated syndrome of vascular dementia are blood stasis
deficiency of kidney yin and yang. Conclusion : The prescription analysis result embodies the characteristics and laws of modern Chinese medicine's treatment on vascular dementia
which also reveal this disease's syndrome distribution rules
ultimately could better guide clinical and research work.
