ObJective: To study antimicrobial activity against SA
MRSA and ESBLs by Musa basJoo rhizome and flower. Method: Disc diffusion method was applied to determine the MIC value. Result: MIC in the petroleum ether extracts of the rhizome against SA
MRSA and ESBLs was 31.25 μg ·disc-1. MIC in n-BuOH extract against MRSA and ESBLs was 250 μg ·disc-1. MIC in the petroleum ether extracts of the flower against SA
MRSA and ESBLs was 125 μg ·disc-1. The order of antimicrobial activity was petroleum ether extracts of rhizome > petroleum ether extracts of flower>n-BuOH extract of rhizome. Conclusion: Petroleum ether extracts of rhizome and flower were active fraction.
