Objective: To study the chemical constituents of Epimedium sagittatum. Method: The compounds were repeatedly separated and purified by chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 column. The chemical constituents of the plant were identified by means of MS

in some case by direct comparison with authentic samples. Result: Seven compounds were isolated and their structures were elucidated as 1

4'-trihydroxy-8
3'-diprenylflavone (4)
emodin (5)
tricin ( 6 ) and β-sitosterol (7)
respectively. Conclusion: Compounds 1
2 and 4 were isolated from this plant for the first time. Compounds 1 and 2 were firstly isolated from the genus Epimedium.
