Research Overview on Pharmacological Actions and Clinical Applications of Tongxieyaofang
This article introduces modern pharmacological research progress on Tongxieyaofang and its clinical application in detail. These facts show that efficacy of this prescription is often associated with some pharmacological activities such as anti-inflammatory
analgesia
anti-diarrheal. Clinically
it is often adjusted to fit for the cure of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
colitis
diarrhea
with marked effectiveness. Based on the benefit of modern extraction and analysis techniques
Tongxieyaofang could be further studied to figure out the substances responsible for its efficacy
and then to establish reasonable method of quality control
in order to lay the foundation for its development as a new drug of Chinese medicine.
