Objective : Aim to establish a HPLC-ELSD method for determination of betaine in Lycium barbamm . Method : HPLC-ELSD method was used Luna 5 u SCX 100A (4.6 mm×250 mm

was used with methanol-0.10 mol ·L-1 ammonium acetate (15 ∶85)

the flow rate was 1.0 mL ·min-1

the column temperature was at 30 ℃; Detector parameter were as follow:the nebulizar temperature was at 60 ℃

and the evaporation temperature was at 90 ℃

the flow rate was 1.0 L·min-1. Result :The linear range of betaine was in 0.75~3.75 μg (r=0.999 7);The average recovery (n=6 ) was 99.86%

with RSD 2.05%. Conclusion :The method is suitable for the determination the contents of the betaine in L. barbamm .
