Study on Chemical Components of Essential Oil in the wild and cultivated by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry
Objective:To analyze the chemical constituents of the volatile oil from the wild and cultivated Artemisia annua. Methods: The essential oil was extracted from the aerial part of Artemisia annua by steam distillation. The constituents were separated and identified by GC-MS.Results: 24 components were separated and identified which accounted for 78.2% of total volatile oil for the wild species.28 components were separated and identified which accounted for 79.7% of total volatile oil for the cultured species. Conclusion: Both the main components were similar but their relative contents were different.
