Objective:To observe the effects of Liuweidihuang Pill and Jinguishenqi Pill on lymphocyte subgroups and natural killer(NK) cells in mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE).Methods:The mice were immunized subcutaneouly with MOG35-55 emulsified in complete Freund's adjuvant(CFA) and intraperitoneally Pertussis toxin(PTX) for establishing EAE model. The animals were weighted and graded daily for clinical disability.At 12

the value of CD4+/CD8+ was increased obviously.Clinical score of remedial group reduced and the courses of disease were shortened.The lymphocyte subgroups and NK cells were adjusted to normal state after treated by the drugs.Pathologi-cally

infiltrated inflammatory cells were observed around vein to form sleeve

the nuclei were pyknosis in model group mice.The inflammatory cells foci comparatively decreased

sleeve-like changes were seldom seen in prednisone

in Liuweidihuang Pill and Jinguishenqi Pill treated groups.Conclusions:Liuweidihuang Pill and Jinguishenqi Pill have the effects on prevention and treatment the mice with EAE.The mechanism may regulate the cell immune system.Liuweidihuang Pill is superior to prednisone acetate and Jinguishenqi Pill in improving the weight of EAE mice

nerve score and regulating the immune cells.
