Effects of Sesamin on Myocardial Hypertrophy in Renal Hypertensive-hyperlipidemia Rats
Objective:To investigate the improve effect of sesamin on myocardial hypertrophy in renal hypertensive-hyperlipidemia rats(RHHR).Methods: Renal hypertensive-hyperlipidemia rats were orally given with sesamin at dosage of 100

10 mg·kg-1·d-1 respectively.Eight weeks later
rats were sacrificed and the left ventricular weight index(LVWI) was calculated
the contents of hydroxyproline(HYD) and NO-3/NO-2 in myocardium were measured
the expression of Cfos protein was determined by immunohistochemical staining
and the ultramicrostructures of myocardium was observed through electronmicroscope.Results:(100 mg·kg-1·d-1) sesamin decreased LVWI
content of HYD and expression of C-fos protein
increased NO-3/NO-2 concentration
and ameliorated the pathologic changes such as disorder of myofilament and cardiac muscle fibroplasia.Conclusion: The effect of sesamin on attenuating the hypertrophy of myocardium is partialy related with improving NO availability and decreasing expression of C-fos protein.
