The Effect of Capsule on Learning-memory Ability and the Content of Ca in Brain Tissue of Rats with Vascular Dementia
Objective:To investigate the effect of Zhinao Capsule on behavior and the content of Ca2+ in brain tissue of rats with vascular dementia.Methods:After intraperitoneal injection of low dose of sodium nitroprusside
animal models of vascular dementia were established by clamping common carotid arteries repeatedly.Their learning and memory ability and the content of Ca2+ in brain tissue of rats were detected.Results:The learning and memory ability had been reduced obviously in the model group of rats with vascular dementia
and the content of Ca2+ in brain tissue had been increased.Compared with model group
three kinds of Zhinao Capsule treated group
nimodipine treated group and piracetam treated group could significantly decrease the content of Ca2+ in brain tissue of rats with vascular dementia(P<0.05 or P<0.01).The content of Ca2+ in brain tissue of rats with vascular dementia could decrease more in high dose of Zhinao capsule treated group than in other two groups(P<0.05).Conclusions:Zhinao Capsule could improve the learning and memory in rats with vascular dementia
which may be related to decreasing the content of Ca2+ in brain tissue of rats.
