Influence of Houshiheisan on Hemorheological Parameters and Metabolism of Free Radicals in Brain of Rats with Ischemia
Objective:To study the effect of Houshiheisan on hemorheological parameters
antioxidase activities and malondialdehyde(MDA) contents in the brain of rats with ischemia
so as to explore the protective mechanisms of rats with occlusion of the middle cerebral artery.Methods:Focal cerebral ischemia in rats was produced by 24 h occlusion of the middle cerebral artery(MCAO).The effects on blood viscosity
erythrocyte deformability and erythrocyte aggregability and the activities of GSH-PX、SOD、CAT and MDA in ischemic tissue of brain were observed.Results:Houshiheisan could significantly improve the erythrocyte deformability
reduce blood viscosity
erythrocyte aggregability and improve the activities of all the enzymes mentioned above and reduce the contents of MDA in ischemic tissue of brain.Conclusion:The results indicate Houshiheisan provides protective effect against focal cerebral ischemic injury and this effect may be related to improving the hemorheological parameters
