Objective:To investigate the effect of antihypertenive formula of clearing liver fire and supplementing qi on the expression of AT1R protein of the arteriolar in kidney of spontaneously hypertensive rat(SHR)

and to explore the antihypertensive mechanisms.Methods:Thirty male spontaneously hypertensive rats were randomly divided into five groups(model group

positive control group

clearing liver fire and supplementing qi group

clearing liver fire group

soothing the liver and restraining liver fire group)

and were given the drugs for six weeks

and addtional six Wistar rats were regarded as normol group.Blood pressure and AngⅡin plasma were detected

and the effect on the expression of AT1R protein of the arteriolar in kidney were detected by in situ hybridization.Results:The formula showed antihypertensive effect

with marked blood pressure drop compared with the model(P<0.05);and restrained the AngⅡ level and the expression of AT1R protein of the arteriolar in kidney(P<0.05).Conclusions:The formula of clearing liver fire and supplementing qi has good antihypertensive effect.The antihypertensive mechanism might be that the formula can restrain the expresson of AT1R protein of the arteriolar in kidney and reduce the level of AngⅡ in plasma.
