Effect of Keyushushen Granule on Weight and Behavior of Experimental Dysthymia Rat
Objective:To study the effect of Ke yushushen granule on body weight and behavior of experimental dysthymia rat.Method:Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into the following groups
control
model
Ke yushushen granule(low dose
middle dose
high dose)and Fluoxetine with 10 rats in each group. The rats were separtately raised and put under chronic unpredictable mild stress
in order to induce the model of dysthymia. The weight of the rats was observed and their behavioral changes were studied via sucrose-water consumption and Open-field test. Results:The results showed that the weight was higher in the high and middle dose groups of Ke yushushen and Fluoxetine compared with the model group. The sucrose consumption and activaties were higher in the three doses of Ke yushushen granule and Fluoxetine groups. Conclusions:Ke yushushen granule is effective in mitigating depressed behavior of experimental dysthymia rats.
