Study on Determination of Ferulic Acid and Hydroxy Safflower Yellow A in Shuxiong Pulsatile Controlled-release Dropping Pill
Objective: To develop a HPLC method for determination of the content of ferulic acid and hydroxy safflower yellow A in Shuxiong pulsatile controlled-release dropping pill. Method: Kromasil C18 (4.6 mm×250 mm
pH was adjusted to 3.0 by phosphoric acid) as mobile phase. The flow rate was 1.0 mL·min-1

and column temperature at 30 ℃. Result: The linear response ranges were 1.409-90.16 mg·L-1 with regression curve A=0.820 6 C-0.287 4 (r=0.999 9) for ferulic acid
4.035-258.3 mg·L-1 with regression curve A=0.412 7C-0.487 8 (r=0.999 7) for hydroxy safflower yellow A. The average recovery of ferulic acid and hydroxy safflower yellow A were 99.43% and 100.03% (RSD 3.42%

n=6). Conclusion: A simple
accurate and reproducible HPLC method is provided for determination of ferulic acid and hydroxy safflower yellow A in Shuxiong pulsatile controlled-release dropping pill.
