Effects of 3’-daidzein Sulfonate Sodium on Retina after Ischemia-reperfusion Injury in Rats
Objective: To study the effects of 3'-daidzein sulfonate sodium on retina after ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats. Method: Rat cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury modeling was established by blocking arteria cerebri media

respectively. Retinal ischemia was induced by clamping the common carotid artery unilaterally. Various doses of 3'-daidzein sulfonate sodium (1.0
2.0 mg·kg-1) was injected via the sublingual vein prior to clamping the common carotid artery
and the same volume of normal saline was administered to the model group in rats. The differences of fundus fluorescein angiography and electroretinogram (ERG) at 1 hour were observed before treating and 1 hour after reperfusion. Result: Cerebral infarction area and brain water content of 3'-daidzein sulfonate sodium (1.0
2.0 mg·kg-1) treating groups were significantly lower than it in model group. Compared with normal saline control groups
the amplitude of ERG increased while the peak latencies reduced significantly in 3'-daidzein sulfonate sodium (1.0
2.0 mg·kg-1) treating groups. The 3'-daidzein sulfonate sodium could also significantly shorten the refill time of fundus fluorescein angiography retinal artery. Conclusion: 3'-daidzein sulfonate sodium show significant protect effect on rat cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. 3'-daidzein sulfonate sodium can greatly dilate retinal vessels and protect it from suffering retinal ischemia-reperfusion injury.
