Forty-five Cases of Cervical Headache Treated by Gastrodin Tablets Plus Manipulation
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Gastrodin tablets plus manipulation in treating cervical headache. Method: Ninety patients with cervical headache were randomly divided into observation group and control group (n=45 each). Patients in the control group were treated with manipulation every two days. Patients in the observation group were treated with Gastrodin tablets (4 tablets per times
three times per day) plus manipulation. diclofenac sodium sustained release tablets were given when necessary. Four weeks were considered as one cycle. Visual analog scale (VAS) was used in evaluation of pain before and after treatment. Frequency and duration of headache
frequency of taking painkillers was recorded. Cervical activity (ROM) was observed. Result: VAS scores and ROM scores of the observation group were both lower than those in the control group (P<0.05
P<0.01). Frequency and duration of headache
frequency of taking painkillers of the observation group were less than those of the control group (P<0.01). Therapeutic efficacy of the observation group was better than that of the control group. Conclusion: Gastrodin tablets plus manipulation show better therapeutic effect in treating cervical headache
