Effect of Jingui Shenqi Wan on CGRP after Radiation Damage to Spinal Cord Induced by Brachytherapy in Rat
Objective:To observe the change of CGRP after radiation by
192 Ir irradiation on spinal cord and to detect the protective action of Jingui Shenqi Wan for spinal cord damnification. Method:120 SD rats were randomly divided into four groups: model group
Jingui Shenqi Wan treatment group
prednisone positive group
and normal control group. Rats were given correspondence drug once a day for 14 days (normal control group and model group were given normal saline). Then Animal models of radiation damage in spinal cord was induced in rats by
192 Ir interstitial irradiation
which was successfully created through the tube inserted in T
11 horizontal place in rat spinal cord by back-fixing technology. The dosage of model group
Jingiu Shenqi Wan treatment group and prednisone positive group was 22 Gy
the normal control group was free of irradiation. CGRP was tested by immunohistochemistry. Result: From the result of immunohistochemistry
we found the number and the brown substance in cells of spinal cord were significantly increased after irradiation. After treated with Jingui Shenqi Wan and prednisone
they were significantly decreased and weaked 8 h
24 h after brachytherapy(P

there were no significantly difference compared with the model group 4 week after irradiation. Conclusion: It was found that CGRP regulated and controlled the process of rat spinal damnification. Jingui Shenqi Wan could relive the damnification spinal cord after brachytherapy in rats.
