Studies on Antitussive and Antiasthmatic Action of Suhuangzhike Granules
and expectorant effects of Suhuangzhike granules.Method:Using the asthma model induced by acetylcholine and histamine mixture
antigen challenging(ovalbumin)and guinea pig’ isolated trachea strip test the antiasthmatic effect was evaluated;using the cough model induced by ammonia
citric acid in mice
the antitussive effect was studied;phenol red test was used to observe the expectorant effect in mice.Result:Suhuangzhike granules could significantly prolong the latent period of twitch of guinea pig caused by acetylcholine and histamine
markedly decrease the number of leucocyte in perfusate of trachea and lung;and the degranulation rate of labrocyte in peritoneal fluid of guinea pig challenged by antigen
significantly decrease the tension of smooth muscle of trachea
significantly prolong the latent period of cough and decrease the frequency of cough induced by citric acid in guinea pig
significantly inhibit the cough induced by ammonia in mice
and increase phenol red excretion of trachea quantity in mice. Conclusion:Suhuangzhike granules has antitussive
