normal hypoxia tolerance and heat resistance abilities assay was employed to evaluate the anti-stress ability of Baoqingkang;The baiting method was employed to measure the learning and memory of the aged mice;McEwen method was employed to measure cerebral MAOB activities of the middle age and the old age mice.TBA method
pyrogallol autoxidation method and DNBT method were employed to determine the liver MDA
SOD activities and GSH-Px activities in brain
liver
heart and whole blood of the aged mice
respectively.Results:Baoqingkang could prolonge the mouse swimming time
the survival time of hypobaric hypoxic mice
decrease the mortality in the heat resistance assay
increase the anti-stress ability of the mice.Baoqingkang could improve the learning and memory of the middle age and the aged mice
and decrease the liver MDA content for the aged mice
increase SOD and GSH-Px activities in brain
liver
heart and whole blood for the aged mice.Conclusion:Baoqingkang has anti-stress and anti-aging effect.
