Objective:To determine the contents of active ingredients(magnolia and honokiol) in Magnolia officinalis processed by different methods and from different areas by HPLC.Method: HPLC was applied to determine the contents of magnolia and honokiol in M.officinalis processed by different methods and from different areas.The samples were performed on a Phenomsil C18(4.6 mm × 250 mm
5 μm) column with mobile phase of CH3OH-H2O(78∶22)at a flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1.The detection wavelength was set at 294 nm.The column temperature was 25 ℃ and the injection volumn was 10 μL.Result:There are some difference on contents of active ingredients in M.officinalis processed by different methods and from different areas.Conclusion:The method is convenient.accurate and suitale for separation of magnolia and honokiol.It can be used for determination of magnolia and honokiol in M.officinalis.
