Effect of Alcohol Extraction of Eupatorium in Rats with Experimental Gastric Ulcer
Objective: To explore the effect of alcohol extraction of eupatorium(AEOE) on ulcer index(UI)
malondialdehyde(MDA)
superoxide dismutase(SOD)
Nitric Oxide(NO)
Epidernal Growth Factor(EGF) in rats with experimental gastric ulcer.Method: The rat model of experimental gastric ulcer was established by giving glacial acetic acid.The levels of MDA
SOD
NO and EGF in blood serum were measured.The level of NO in stomach homogenate and UI were measured and calculated.At last
the effect of AEOE for the rats of experimental gastric ulcer was studied.Result: Compared with control group
AEOE groups and cimetidine tablet group could significantly decrease UI and the level of MDA(P < 0.01)
and significantly rise the level of SOD and NO in blood serum(P < 0.01).AEOE groups could significantly rise the level of NO in stomach homogenate(P < 0.01).Conclusion: AEOE has the function of protecting gastric mucous from ulcerous injury.
