Determination of Five Anthraquinone Derivatives in Niuhuang Xiaoyan Tablets from Different Pharmaceutical Factories by HPLC
Objective:To develop a method for the determination of five anthraquinone derivatives(aloeemodin
rhein
emodin
chrysophanol and physcion) in Niuhuang Xiaoyan tablets.Method:High performance liquid chromatography was performed on an ZORBAX SB-C18column(4.6 mm × 250 mm
5 μm) with acetonitrile-0.1% phosphoric acid as a mobile phase by gradient elution.The flow rate was 1.0 mL.min-1;the detection wavelength was set at 226 nm;the temperature of column was at 40 ℃;the injection volume was 5 μL.Result:Five compounds were separated at baseline within 50 min with good linearity.The regression equations were Y=6 754.2X +2.078 9

chrysophanol 103.2%(RSD 2.4%) and physcion 100.5%(RSD 0.9%).Conclusion:HPLC is a simple
accurate
stable
and reliable method in determining the content of aloe-emodin
rhein
emodin
chrysophanol and physcion in Niuhuang Xiaoyan tablets
and it can be used for quality control of this preparation.
