Objective:To study the bacteriostatic effects of Belamcanda chinensis extract in vitro and in vi-vo.Method: Inhibition zone diameters were measured to investigate the bacteriostatic effects of B.chinensis extract on various germ strains

and to identify the sensitive strains to B.chinensis extract;Minimal inhibitory concentrations（MIC）of B.chinensis extract was determined by double-fold dilution method.Bacteriostatic effect of B.chinensis ex-tract in vivo was determined in the mice model with peritoneal injection of Staphylococcus aureus.Result: Streptococ-cus pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were more sensitive to B.chinensis extract than S.aureus
