Objective:To study the clinical efficacy of antitussive and expectorant decoction combined with azithromycin on mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia（MMP）.Method: Eighty children with MP were randomly divided into azithromycin group and the group treated with azithromycin and antitussive and expectorant decoction

40 cases in each group.The therapeutic effect were observed after 2 courses（7 days for a course）of treatment.Result: In the azithromycin group

the cure rate was 82.50%

the total effective rate was 97.50%.For the combination group

67.50% and 82.50%

sound and other clinical symptoms in the azithromycin group is shorter than the combination group（P<0.05）.Chest X-ray negative rate was 97.50% for the former and 85% for another（P<0.05）.Bilateral lesions negative rate of the former was statistically significant compared to the later（P<0.05）.Conclusion: Relieving cough and eliminating phlegm decoction combined with azithromycin had remarkable curative effect on MMP
