Impact of Processing on Chemical Composition in Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis
Objective:To investigate the impact of processing on chemical composition in Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis.Method: Ginger juice was used to process the samples of Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis. An HPLC and a GC-MS method were established to analyze the changes of lignans
phenylpropanoid glycosides
alkaloids
volatile oil in processed and unprocessed samples.Result: Compared with unprocessed samples
no big difference was observed on the content of lignans
alkaloids and volatile oil
while the content of phenylpropanoid glycosides decreased by 50% in processed samples. Conclusion:The processing can reduce the content of phenylpropanoid glycosides in Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis.
